Presentation of the Dream Workshop Competition- the Mask washeld on Jan 7th, 2012 at Raffles Design Institute-Guangzhou. Winners, some of the contestants and their parents, as well as staff of Raffles were present at the presentation and the event was recorded by the reporters from Guangdong TV Station. The ceremony included a speech delivered by Dean Assistance Ms. Lorna Han, displays of students’ work, and comments on work by judges, a speech given by winners and prizes awarded.

The competition launched on Nov 1st, 2011. Students from Guangzhou Bi Gui Yuan School, Guangzhou Art High School and Guangzhou Fine Art High School took part. After 2 months work collecting and online voting, 36 finalists were chosen by our judge and prizes were awarded to winners. The top three winners were awarded RMB1000, RMB 2000 and RMB 3000respectively as well as a Raffles’ scholarship worth RMB 10000, RMB 20000 and RMB 30000.

Lecturers from the Graphic Design Department included Mr. SutandiPrawira, Mr. Manfred Ercis Spiller, Mr. Vladimir Rajevac and lecturer from the Interior Design Department Ms. MaryannAlheidt gave a detailed review of the top ten works. Also, students’ creativity and skills were highly commented. Dean assistance Ms. Lorna Han delivered a speech afterwards to encourage students to continue working hard and gain higher achievements.

The competition is a great success and will be held annually by Raffles Design Institute Guangzhou. ‘Dream Workshop Competition’ is becoming well-known in Guangzhou and, not only it will be a good opportunity for students to showcase their talent for design, but also can increase our importance in regional design.
